DESCRIPTION:The Griffin Museum of Photography is proud to present a lecture series
  featuring the artists of Vision(ary): Raising Our Voices\, our annual
  public summer exhibition\, curated by Elizabeth Krist. 
 
 Join our online conversation will be with photographer Lindsay

 Lindsay Morris
 
 Lindsay Morris is an American photographer working at the intersection
  of portraiture and long-form documentary. Her practice centers on
  youth\, gender identity\, and marginalized communities\, tracing how
  visibility and protection are negotiated within fragile social
  conditions. 
 
 She is a producer of the BBC documentary My Transgender Summer Camp
  (2016) andauthor of the monograph You Are You (Kehrer Verlag\, 2015)\,
  which received international acclaim for its sustained engagement with
  gender-expansive youth. Her work has appeared in The New York Times
  Magazine\, TIME\, New York Magazine\, Scientific American\, GEO\, and
  Der Spiegel\, and is held in the collections of the Parrish Art Museum
  and the Newport Art Museum. 
 
 Morris was a TED Speaker in 2023 and a 2024 Artist-in-Residence at The
  Watermill Center\, NY. She has received support from the New York
  State Council for the Arts (2024) and New York Foundation for the Arts
  as a JGS Fellow (2023). She holds a BFA from the University of
  Michigan and began photographing during a Rotary Exchange year in
  South Africa.xplores how capitalism and power have shaped countries\,
  and how that can be seen and experienced in everyday life. Graves also
  works to elevate the representation of people of color in the fine art
  canon\, and to create opportunities for conversation about race\,
  representation\, and urban life. He photographs to preserve memory. 
 
 About Vision(ary)
 
 Vision(ary) is the Griffin Museum of Photography's annual summer
  public art exhibition dedicated to the art of visual storytelling.
  This public art installation features individual exhibitions with
  distinct photographic styles\, including banners hung on light
  standards and art installations around the Griffin Museum.From the
  Civil Rights Movement to contemporary struggles for racial equity\,
  gender justice\, environmental protection\, labor rights\, immigration
  reform\, and democratic accountability\, protest has shaped the
  American narrative.Photography has been central to this
  history--documenting resistance\, amplifying voices\, and creating
  images that define collective memory.In the light of America's 250th
  anniversary\, this year's edition\, Raising Our Voices\, presents
  photographic projects that focus on advocacy\, social justice\, and
  activism within the United States--past or present.Vision(ary) is
  supported by the Winchester Cultural District\, Winchester Cultural
  Council\, John & Mary Murphy Foundation\, En Ka Society\, Winchester
  Rotary\, Winchester Savings Bank\, Griffin Museum Directors Circle\,
  and other cultural and private partners. The exhibition concept and
  Photo Cube structures are designed by our long time producing
  partner\, Photoville.
